
Vivas de Lorenzi Concludes Season at NCAA Championships

Sophomore competes on national stage in Wisconsin
MADISON, Wis. - Rice sophomore Lourdes Vivas de Lorenzi capped off a sensational sophomore campaign by finishing 135th overall out of 253 runners at Saturday's NCAA Cross Country Championships at the Zimmer Championship Course.
"I'm very proud of Lourdes today in her first national meet," Rice head coach Jim Bevan said. "She gained a lot of priceless experience for the future. She was the fourth runner from our region today after finishing 10th last week. She showed perseverance throughout the year. We're excited for the 2019 season."
Vivas de Lorenzi finished the 6k race in 21:22, averaging 5:43 a mile in the snow.
Colorado won the team title with 63 points, followed by New Mexico (103) and Oregon (160).
