Freshman AJ Valenty picked up a win in singles to close out action for Rice at the Contender Crossfit Islander Open Invitational in Corpus Christi on Sunday.

Valenty picked up a straight set win over Mateo Schmit of Texas-Rio Grande Valley to close out action for the Owls.
