Rutledge Advances to Consolation Semis

The Lead: Eric Rutledge capped a marathon day of tennis by advancing to the semifinals of the singles consolation round at the ITA Texas Regional at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco on Sunday.
The Details: Rutledge opened play on Sunday morning by pairing with Sumit Sarkar by advancing to the doubles quarterfinals with a win before falling to No. 3 seeds Christian Sigsgaard and Harrison Scott of Texas. He then shifted to the singles court where he had to grind out a win over No. 4 seed Enrique Pardo of UTA in a super tiebreaker before ending his day with a straight set win over UTRGV's Mateo Schmit.
