Zhang Advances to Riviera Qualifying Round

2017 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships

Wendy Zhang advanced to the qualifying round of the 2017 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Sunday with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Sarah Dvorak of Texas Tech.

Zhang will move on to the qualifying round, which will begin on Tuesday at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, California.

Zhang's Rice teammates, Michaela Haet and Lindsey Hodge dropped their consolation match in the pre-qualifying doubles round, dropping a tiebreaker to Anja Dokic and Lilian Poling of Boise State, 8-7 (1).

Both Haet and Hodge will being play in the singles main draw on Thursday,
