Cartwright Earns Second C-USA Athlete of the Week Award

IRVING, Texas - Rice redshirt sophomore cross country runner Abigail Cartwright was awarded the Conference USA Female Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday morning.
Cartwright, from Dallas, won her second C-USA weekly award of the 2016 season by placing second overall at last weekend's Texas A&M Invitational with a time of 20:16 in the 6K race. The Owls won their second team race of the season in the process.
Cartwright was also named the C-USA Female Athlete of the Week back on Sept. 13 following her victory at the Rice Invitational.
The Owls are ranked fourth in this week's USTFCCCA South Central Region rankings and will be compete at this weekend's Rim Rock Classic in Lawrence, Kansas.
