Hansen and Llamas Take Doubles Title

Rice freshmen Jake Hansen and Emanuel Llamas opened their collegiate tennis careers in style by capturing the B Flight doubles title at the Rice Fall Invitational at the George R. Brown Tennis Center on Sunday.
The duo raced to a 6-1 win over UTSA's pairing of Diogo Casa and Jao Riquelme to complete a 4-0 weekend. Rice's other B Flight entry of Dongwei Peng and Henrik Munch, who fell to Casa and Riquelme in the semis, defeated Mathieu Garcia and Jamie Fisher from the University of Portland 6-3 to finish third.
The Owls finished the weekend with a combined 12-3 mark in doubles action and a 16-9 mark in singles, highlighted by Hansen's run to the B Flight singles final match.
