Mikesky Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas - Rice junior outside hitter Leah Mikesky was selected to the Conference USA All-Academic Volleyball Team, the league office announced Thursday afternoon.
A repeat winner from last year, Mikesky is a Kinesiology major with a 4.11 GPA and has twice been named to the Rice University President's Honor Roll. Mikesky, from Schulenburg, Texas, was named First-Team All-C-USA on Tuesday. She leads the Owls in total kills (452) and is third in total digs (319). Mikesky also ranks second on the team with 16 double-doubles and has seven matches with 20 or more kills this season.
Earlier this month Mikesky was selected to the District 15 CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team and is currently eligible for Academic All-American honors.
The Owls have now had at least one student-athlete named to the C-USA All-Academic Team in 10 consecutive seasons.
Rice opens up the C-USA Championship this Friday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. when they take on Southern Miss in San Antonio.
