Malik Wraps Weekend with Singles Title

Freshman Jamie Malik rallied from a first set loss to down Alabama's Andrew Goodwin to capture the Flight Three singles title at the Crimson Tide Four-in-the-Fall tournament held at the Alabama Tennis Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Sunday.
Malik spotted Goodwin the opening set, 6-4 before evening the match with a 6-1 win in the second set and then took the third 6-4 to take the title.
Rice senior Srikar Alla also closed his weekend of competition on a winning note, downing Illinois' Toshiki Matsuya 6-3, 6-3 to win the consolation round in Flight One singles.
