Malik Earns Finals Spot at Four in the Fall

Freshman Jamie Malik captured a pair of matches in straight sets to advance to the finals of the Flight Three singles at the Crimson Tide Four-in-the-Fall tournament held at the Alabama Tennis Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Saturday.
Malik opened his second day of singles action by downing Notre Dame's Nicolas Montoya 6-4, 6-2, and then turned back Bama's Sam Edwards 6-2, 6-2. He will face the Crimson Tide's Andrew Goodwin in the final on Sunday morning
Malik's teammate David Warren saw his efforts to advance in Flight Two end with a three-set loss to Florida State's Jose Gracia (4-6,6-3, 6-4).
Rice senior Srikar Alla picked up a pair of wins in the consolation bracket of the Flight One singles to reach the finals where he will take on Toshiki Matsuya of Illinois.
