
Warren and Malik Move Ahead at Four in the Fall

David Warren continued his strong play during the fall tournament season while freshman Jamie Malik also advanced to highlight play by Rice in the Four in the Fall tennis tournament hosted by the University of Alabama on Friday.
Warren, who stormed to the finals of the main single draw of the Rice Invitational last weekend, spotted Tulane's Ian Van Cott the opening set before rallying to advance 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. He will face Florida State's Jose Gracia on Saturday.
Malik opened play with a three-set win over Alabama's Hayes Brewer and will next face Notre Dame's Nicolas Montoya.
The Owls other two entries, Srikar Alla and Gustavo Gonzalez, both dropped their openers on Friday, as did the Owls two doubles entries of Alla and Gonzalez and Warren and Malik. They will move into the consolation round on Sunday.
