Andrews and Munch Reach Midland Singles Semifinals

Sophomores Max Andrews and Henrik Munch advanced to the semifinals in the two singles flights to highlight action for the Owls in the second day of the rain-shortened Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational in Midland, Texas on Saturday.

Due to foul weather, the format for the tournament was altered, with singles being decided by a lone set played to eight games. Andrews bested Tomislav Gregurovic of Wichita State, 8-5 to advance to the semifinals on Sunday where he will face Trevor Johnson of TCU, who advanced by defeating Adam Gustafsson in a tiebreaker, 9-7. Johnson fought of a match point against Gustafsson before advancing.

Munch advanced with an 8-2 win over Evan Proctor of Abilene Christian. He will face Sebastian Erimicioiu 68 of Texas Arlington in the semifinals on Sunday morning
