Owls Add Hansen for 2015-16

Rice men's tennis coach Efe Ustundag confirmed on Tuesday the signing of Jacob Hansen to a letter of intent to join the Owls beginning at the start of the 2015-16 school year.
"We are very excited to have Jake a part of our team," Ustundag said. "Jake will bring in an energy and a winning attitude. He is a competitor that wears his opponents down physically and mentally because he fights for every point. He is going to impact our team right away and Rice fans will truly enjoy watching him compete."
Hansen, who is from Austin but attends the IMG Academy while competing on the juniors circuit, is currently ranked second in Texas and 20th in the nation among high school seniors by Tennisrecruiting.net. He is one of 28 seniors tabbed by the site as blue chip recruits.
The current group of Owls will open their 2015 dual season in January when they welcome UTSA and Cornell to the new George R. Brown Tennis Center for matches on January 16 & 18.
