Zinko Splits Matches to Close Out Regional Play

Solomiya Zinko won her second consecutive consolation match to advance to the quarterfinals of the ITA Texas Regional before bowing out and wrapping up the Owls action at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Ft. Worth on Saturday.
Zinko opened action on Saturday by defeating North Texas' Alexis Thoma-UNT, 6-4; 6-1 to move into the round of eight in the consolation bracket. She moved onto face SMU's Hristina Dishko, but dropped a 6-3; 6-3 decision.
The Owls will be back in action in two weeks when they travel across town to participate in the Cougar Classic.
