On Saturday (April 28) San Jacinto College invited its former head coach, Wayne Graham, to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before a home baseball game. Prior to taking the helm of the Rice Owls baseball program in 1992, coach Graham led San Jacinto to five junior college national championships in 11 seasons.
There were no Rice games this week while the University was in its final exams period for the spring semester. The Owls return to action with a home game on May 2. Rice hosts local foe Texas Southern University at 6:30 pm Wednesday at Reckling Park.
