McNamara Named To CoSIDA Captial One Academic All-District Team

Laurie McNamara was named to the Region 7 CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Second Team. The senior is making her first appearance on an Academic All-District squad.

McNamara is a Sport Management major with a 3.95 GPA. She was named to the 2011 C-USA All-Academic Team, and has been awarded the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal twice.

She has been selected to two All-Tournament squads this season. She has posted 2.38 kills per set and hit .267 this season for the Owls.

McNamara and the Owls take on Tulsa on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. at Tulsa's Donald W. Reynolds Center. The winner of the match gains control of the C-USA lead with one match to play.
