2009 Rice Tennis Classic Day 2 Results 
In singles play, six Rice Owls will advance in the winner's bracket of the 2009 Rice Classic to compete in the finals. In Flight 1, Rebekka Hanle defeated SMU's Marta Lesniak 6-3, 6-0. Lesniak was ranked 39th in the country.
In Flight 2, Julie Chao defeated Sam Houston State's Giorgia Pozzan 6-3, 7-6(2). In Flight 3, Jessica Jackson defeated Oklahoma's Maria Kalashnikova 6-4, 6-2. In Flight 4, Alex Rasch defeated LSU's Keri Frankenberger 7-6(3), 7-6(6). In Flight 5, Becca Lin defeated Oklahoma's Tina Radan 6-1, 2-6, 6-3. In Flight 6, Varsha Shiva Shankar defeated SMU's Claudia Hidalgo 6-3,6-2.
In Flight 3 of doubles play, the Rice team of Rasch and Jackson defeated Oklahoma's Tina Radan and Tara Eckel 8-4 in the championship match.
