The Rice Owls women's cross country team won the 34th Rice Invitational with 16 points, while Houston Baptist was second (45 points), and Prairie View A&m was third with 82 points.
Leading the way for the Owls with a fourth-place finish was Marie Thompson, who ran the 4000m course in a time of 14:05.6. Johanna Ohm was sixth (14:36.2), Michaela Reynolds placed seventh (14:47.6), and Claire Shorall was eighth (14:49.5) for Rice.
Other Rice runners were Addie Quinn 14th (15:43.4), Georgina Norton 15th (15:46.3), Sophie Peeters 18th (16:02.8), and Vicki Walker 22nd (16:23.8).
