Notre Dame, Ind. -- The Rice Owls women's cross country team placed 16th at the Notre Dame Invitational"Blue Division" with 452 points at the Notre Dame Golf Course.
No. 1 Washington took the women's team crown with 33 points after the Huskies took the top four individual finishes. No. 6 Princeton finished second with 68 points, followed by the 15th-ranked Florida Gators in third with 104 points. No. 22 Penn State and No. 13 Arizona State round out the top five.
Rice's top finisher was Marie Thompson, who finished 62nd with a time of 17:40. Heather Olson, a freshman, placed 96th (18:08), Johanna Ohm was 97th (18:08), and Halsey Fowler finished 98th (18:08). Placing 110th was Claire Shorall with a time of 18:18. Freshman Kathryn Zebrowski was 139th with a time of 18:40 and Michaela Reynolds placed 153 in a time of 18:55. Marie Walsh was 165 (19:08).
Washington's Kendra Schaaf was the individual women's winner with a time of 16:31.
