Midland, Texas - Ana Guzman defeated Lauren Megale of Boise State and Catalina Cruz of North Texas in back to back singles to advance to the third round. Senior Julie Chao defeated Andrea Oates of Pepperdine and Carla Lindlar of Baylor to advance as well.
Jessica Jackson defeated North Texas' Paraschiv in the first round before getting knocked out by Zalameda from Pepperdine.
Mecklin Ragan, Becca Lin, and Varsha Shiva Shankar all lost in the first round, but Shiva Shankar and Lin both defeated their respective opponents in the first round of consolation singles.
In doubles play, all of the Owls' teams advanced, including Rasch/Chao, Guzman/Jackson, and Shiva Shankar/Lin.
