Colwick Named C-USA Athlete of the Week

Rice University pole vaulter Jason Colwick has been selected as co-Conference USA Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Texas Twilight last Saturday. He shares the weekly honor with Houston's Ivan Diggs.

Colwick, a junior from San Marcos, Texas, won the pole vault event at the Texas Twilight meet with another NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 5.50m (18-00.50). It is the second time during the outdoor season that Colwick has cleared the 18-feet mark. It also marks his second Track and Field Athlete of the Week honor for the outdoor season.

Diggs won the high jump event at the LSU Alumni Gold Invitational with a mark of 2.14m (7-00.25).
