Lin in Championship Match at Alonti Cougar Fall Draw

Rice University's Rebecca Lin defeated Stephen F. Austin's Alina Shazhko 6-0, 6-4 to advance to the championship of the Alonti Cougar Fall Draw Singles B Flight Sunday morning.
Lin will face Akron's Angelica Jogasuria Sunday at 11:30 a.m. for the championship. Also on Sunday in consolation play, Rice's Rebekka Hanle will face Jogasuria's twin sister, Angelina.
In doubles play Saturday, Rice's two teams - Hanle & Lin and Varsha Shiva Shankar and Mecklin Ragan - lost their first-round matches before winning in consolation play.
Hanle and Lin dropped an 8-2 decision to Elja Van Berlo and Vroni Van Berlo in the A Flight. The tandem came back to beat SMU's Briceno and Kennedy 8-4. Shiva Shankar and Ragan lost to the Akron team of Angelina Jogasuria and Prang Pantugert 8-0 but came back to beat Southeastern Louisiana's Hagiu and Hanke, 8-1.
