Lam C-USA Defensive Player of the Week

Rice volleyball player Tracey Lam (San Francisco, Calif.) has been named as Conference USA's Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 26). Lam averaged a league-best 6.78 digs per set in two road matches last week. Her 27 digs at Tulsa Sunday tops the C-USA Individual Match best list for a four-set contest. In addition, her 34 digs at SMU ranks as the second-highest single match total this season. She averaged 6.8 digs at SMU and 6.75 digs at Tulsa. This is Lam's first Defensive Player of the Week honor in 2009 and seventh for her career. She is also Rice's career digs leader with 1,518 digs.
