Rice head baseball coach Wayne Graham announced on Friday (Aug. 22) that Lee Ann Lassiter has been named the Owls' new director of baseball operations. Lassiter replaces Kim Koehn in that role, who was recently promoted within the department to Assistant Athletics Director in the Development Office.
Lassiter will be responsible for the off-the-field operation of the Rice baseball office. Her myriad of duties will include the coordination of all team and recruiting travel, assisting with the logistics of on-campus recruiting and serving as the liaison for visiting teams, campus affairs and the RBI Club.
A native of Round Rock, Tex., Lassiter joins Rice baseball after working the previous year for D.R.W. Trading in Chicago. She also worked previously at a television station and sports-radio station in Austin.
"Lee Ann will be a great addition to our staff," said Coach Graham. "She has a lot of enthusiasm and a diverse background of professional experience that will be of great benefit to the program. I am looking forward to the start of our fall practices."
