Colwick Earns C-USA Honor

Rice sophomore pole vaulter Jason Colwick has been named the Conference USA Male Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 23.

Colwick earned the honor after setting a personal record with a vault of 5.35m (17-06.50) to tie for the title at the Texas Invitational at the University of Texas last Saturday.

The competition was the first outdoor action for the native of San Marcos, who rebounded for a no-height performance at the C-USA Indoor meet to tie the Owls' indoor school record with a vault of 5.26 (17-3) at the Arkansas Last Chance Meet earlier this month.
