Colwick Named C-USA Athlete of the Week

Houston - Rice freshman pole vaulter Jason Colwick was named Conference USA's men's track and field athlete of the week Tuesday by the league office after winning Saturday at the Texas Twilight in Austin with a conference-leading 5.20 meters/17-0.75 clearance. Colwick, who won the 5A state title for San Marcos last year, moved to third on the Rice all-time list with his effort. He is the second straight Owl to be honored, as miler Pablo Solares was selected last week.
