Solares Named C-USA Athlete of the Week

Houston - Rice senior Pablo Solares was named Conference USA men's track and field athlete of the week Tuesday after winning the invitational mile Saturday at the Rafer Johnson/JJK Invitational at UCLA. Solares, who earned NCAA all-America honors in the indoor mile in March, won the race in 4:00.86, two seconds ahead of the runner-up. His time ranks him eighth in the NCAA and is among the top 10 times in the world this year.
