Dig For The Cure - National Program Information
HOUSTON -- The Rice volleyball team is once again joining the national "Dig for the Cure" program to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The Owls' "Dig for the Cure" match is Oct. 26 against Marshall at Fox Gym at 7 pm.
The challenge is for fans to pledge money for each dig the Owls record against the Thundering Herd. Rice currently ranks 11th nationally, averaging 19.15 digs per game, and has an even better mark against Conference USA foes, averaging 20.48 dpg. So for a three-game league match, the Owls are averaging about 61 digs.

Pledge sheets and more information about the national program are available at www.RiceOwls.com on the volleyball home page. Pledges will also be accepted at the entrance to Fox Gym. All funds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation's Houston affiliate.
The program was started by University of Charlotte head volleyball coach Lisa Marston in the fall of 2003. More than $108,000.00 has been raised over the last four years of "Dig for the Cure."
