Walsh, Whitham Finish First Day of Decathlon at Texas Relays

Senior Ryan Walsh scored 3,480 points on the first day of the decathlon Wednesday at the 79th Texas Relays to stand in 15th-place with five events remaining on Thursday. Tyler Whitham's 3,182 points ranked him 19th after the first day.

Competition resumes at 11 am Thursday with the decathlon 110-meter hurdles.
