With only two more days until the Rice baseball team's 2005 season opener, Ballpark Chatter has developed a severe case of senioritis. Today's edition features third baseman Clay Reichenbach.

The senior from Pflugerville worked his way into 28 starts at third base last season for the defending national champions. Reichenbach .357 in Rice's games against nationally-ranked opponents and made only three errors in 79 chances at the hot corner.

Did you know? Last season Reichenbach batted .400 in five NCAA Tournament starts and led the Owls in total bases at the regional.
