Women's Tennis: Owls Stopped By #24 TCU

Senior Elle Lewis knocked off Lucie Dvorakova, ranked 49th in the country, 7-5, 6-3 at number one singles for her 20th victory this year, and the 10th in her last 12 outings. Classmate Charlotte Feasby dominated 63rd-ranked Dorrit Huppes at number two in a 6-1, 6-3 win, bringing to a halt a five-match losing skid. Sophomore Judith Hagedorn rallied from a set down, to blank her opponent in the second. She was unable to hold on to her momentum in the third, though, and lost to Daria Zoldakova 6-4, 0-6, 6-0 at number four. The Owls were swept in doubles action.
Rice wraps up the regular season Saturday with a double header against UC-Santa Barbara and North Texas in Fort Worth.
