Bio
Rice - 2004: Redshirted both the indoor and outdoor seasons. 2003: Ran primarily the 800-meters for the Owls... Ran an outdoor season-best 2:14.81 at the Houston Invitational... Finished sixth at the WAC Championships in El Paso... Also ran the 1,500 where she finished sixth at the WAC meet... Ran 2:11 split at the Drake Relays on Owls 4x800 runner-up team... During the indoor season, posted a best 2:14.05 in preliminary action at the WAC indoor championships in Boise, Idaho... Finished third at the Houston Indoor Opener early in the season... Also ran the mile at that meet, where she finished 10th.
High School - A 2002 graduate of Melfort and Unit Comprehensive Collegiate in Melfort, Saskatchewan... A four-year starter for coach Todd Johnston and the Comets... Was the 2002 provincial champion in the 800 and 1,500 meters... 2001 provincial champion in the 400 and 800 meters... Won the 3,000 meters in 2001... Finished second in the heptathlon at the Canada vs. Netherlands dual meet as a member of the Canadian team... Holds numerous provincial records... Also played basketball for three years, serving as captain in 2002... Three-year member of the Prairie Best all-star team... Squad finished third at provincials in 2002... Competed in volleyball for three years, finishing fifth at the 2001 provincials... Member of the school[apos]s honor roll.
