Over in the javelin, Mckyla Van der Westhuizen claimed the event title with a throw of 56.37m, while Emily Harbach had a huge personal best to finish second with a mark of 55.01m.
Over at Houston, Alexandra Toney set a two-meter personal best in the hammer throw, finishing fourth with a mark of 53.36m.
Post Meet Reaction - Head Coach Jim Bevan
"What a great weekend, with personal bests all over the place. We got to start with Miranda with a 23-second personal best in her second-ever steeplechase, she continues to get better and I am so proud of her. Our javelin was fantastic once again, but Emily was the main highlight, monster personal best throw of 55 meters. Incredible job by her and by Mckyla too. Alexandra had a nice personal best throw over at UH in the hammer throw, she also continues to show improvement. Saniya and Riana ran really well today and are getting in a groove on the track. Sydney Freeman continues to impress in the hurdles. I am very happy with where we are at right now and look forward to seeing how we perform at the conference championship in two weeks."
