DENTON – The Rice women's track and field team heads to North Texas for the 2026 American Conference Outdoor Championships, with the three-day meet beginning Thursday morning.

The Owls enter the weekend projected second in the team standings, with several athletes ranked atop their events.
Julia Johannesdottir holds the top mark in the 100m hurdles, with a time of 13.02, also the school record. Johannesdottir also ranks second in the heptathlon.
Cullen Merrell's time of 2:08.16 sits atop the conference in the 800m. Miranda Schriver is ranked in multiple events with the second-best time in the 5000m (16:34.17) and sixth in the 3000m steeplechase (10:32.71).
Alice Taylor leads the American in the heptathlon, while also sitting third in the high jump with a clearance of 1.81m.
Sister Josie Taylor has the top clearance in the high jump of 1.87m, set at the J. Fred Duckett Twilight Meet a few weeks ago.
The javelin duo of Mckyla Van der Westhuizen (59.06m) and Emily Harbach (55.01m) are 1-2 in the conference. Elena Schwegman sits seventh with a throw of 48.86m.
Barbora Malíková is slotted second in the 400m with a time of 52.56, while Riana Green's time of 53.42 ranks sixth.
Saniya Friendly sits seeded second in the 100m with a time of 11.42, and third in the 200m with a time of 23.49.
