Morgen Cote (Coach Mo) is in her third season as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for Rice Football..
In addition to her role as Football Nutrition Coordinator, she assists with sports science initiatives that include technologies like Vald, Pulse, Striver, and Muse. Her primary responsibilities in the weight room include working with quarterbacks and specialists, as well as, running the developmental program during the pre-season. Coach Mo also combines cognitive training and visualization techniques for quarterbacks and specialists using Neurofeedback EEGs and Virtual Reality to enhance decision making on the field. She also serves as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for Swim and Dive.
Before joining Rice, Coach Mo was at Fresno State University as a Coaching Assistant for the football program, where she assisted with sports science and served as the sports performance coach for the swim and dive teams. Prior to that, she was a Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coach for Football, Men’s Basketball, and Cheer/Dance at Tarleton State University and interned in a Sports Performance role at Yale University.
A native of Lloydminster, Alberta, Mo moved to Houston, Texas, in 2007. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Conditioning with a double minor in Neuroscience and Coaching from Texas A&M University and received her Master of Science in Sports and Recreation from Tarleton State University. While at Texas A&M, Mo played for the women’s rugby team and won a state title in 15s.
