Chris Raitano returned to the Owls in 2021 in a quality control role with the defensive line. He originally joined the Owls staff in March of 2019 and serves as a defensive graduate assistant coach.
Raitano came to Rice after four seasons at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey, the last three as the defensive line coach and video coordinator. Raitano’s defensive line led the Big South Conference in sacks in 2016 and helped spark the Hawks to the school’s first appearance in the NCAA FCS playoffs in 2017.
A 2015 graduate of Monmouth, Raitano began his college coaching career that same year as a defensive quality control coach with the Hawks.
