2026: Made his return to the mound by making nine appearances (6 starts) for the Owls, posting a 3.57 ERA… Made his Rice debut with a scoreless inning vs. Harvard… Made two additional relief appearances before making his first start at HCU on 3/25, giving up one run in three innings and recording his first two strikeouts… Struck out a career-high five in four scoreless innings vs. UTRGV on 3/31… Worked a career-best 4.1 innings vs. Texas A&M Corpus Christi on 4/7.

2024: Redshirted...Named to the California Collegiate League All-League and All-South Division Teams in the summer of 2024... Posted a 1-0 record and a 0.92 ERA in six games (two starts) and struck out 32 in 19.2 innings while walking just six.
Second Baptist: Helped spark Second Baptist to the 2022 TAPPS Division II state title as a junior for head coach Rayner Noble… Was 5-0 with a 1.70 ERA and 41 Strikeouts in 29.1 Innings as a junior, and was named Division II District 5 2nd Team All-District… Earned all-state honors as a sophomore after going 4-0 with an 0.38 ERA and 59 Strikeouts in 32.1 Innings.
Personal: Son of Jake and Haley Baker.... Born August 16… Father. Jake Baker was a three-year starter at Rice (1997-99) and his career .347 average ranks 10th in school history and played two years in the Royals organization … One uncle (Lance Berkman) was the NCBWA National Player of the year in 1997 after hitting .431 with 41 homers and 134 RBI, was drafted in the first round by the Houston Astros and went on to hit .293 with 366 home runs in 1879 games… His 366 home runs as a switch-hitter rank sixth in MLB history…. Another uncle (Josh Baker (uncle) was 8-0 with a 3.27 ERA for Rice’s 2023 CWS championship team and played three seasons in the Brewers system… Grandfather Johnny Baker played football at Mississippi State, then five years in the AFL, including four with the Houston Oilers- the last three while they played at Rice Stadium… His interception of Joe Namath at Rice Stadium in 1966 was one of two in his AFL career... Great uncle (Frank Baker) played basketball and baseball at Southern Miss and then played five seasons in MLB (Yankees & Orioles)… Grandfather (Robert Hall) played basketball at TCU.
