2026: Earned American Conference Newcomer Pitcher of the Year after solidifying the Owls’ starting rotation as the Friday starter after opening the season in the bullpen… Tied for second in the American League with 83.1 innings pitched and 10th with a 4.10 ERA… Worked 59.1 innings in nine conference starts to lead the league and was tied for fourth with four wins and ranked seventh with 38 strikeouts… 4-2 with a 4.46 ERA in his 11 starts, including a 4-2 mark and 4.55 ERA in nine conference starts this year… 2-1 with a 3.48 ERA in nine games (five starts) at Reckling Park... Worked into the sixth inning in nine of 11 series-opening starts, including eight of nine in conference action (the last seven in a row) and had five quality starts… Rice was 7-4 in his 11 starts… Posted a 2.13 ERA with a pair of saves in six relief outings to open the year… Stranded seven of eight inherited runners in his relief outings… Earned a save in his Rice debut, working the final inning in relief of Jeremiah Arnett to defeat Northwestern 3-2 and complete the Owls’ first sweep of an season-opening doubleheader sweep since 1997… Needed just one pitch to earn his second and final save of the year, coming in against Abilene Christian with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth with the Owls leading 5-4 and getting a ground ball to close out the game… Less than 24 hours later, he relieved Ryan Urbanczyk with three on and one out and gave up a sac fly before ending the inning with a ground out. Went on to allow one run of his own over 3.2 innings vs. the Wildcats… Moved into the starting rotation to open Rice’s trip to Arizona against Saint Mary’s… Worked 6.1 innings against the Gaels but left with the game tied 2-2… Averaged 7.0 strikeouts per nine innings in his last seven starts (36 in 46.1 IP) compared with 4.4 in his first 10 games (18 in 37 IP)… Picked up his first career win in the Owls’ 2026 conference opener, working 6.0 innings at USF on 3/20… Struck out a career-high eight at Charlotte on 4/10.

2025: Did not allow a run in four appearances with the Volunteers (2.1 innings)… Struck out two in a scoreless inning in his debut against UNCA Asheville on 2/18… Struck out the only batter he faced in a 13-3 victory over Rice on 3/1 in the Astros Foundation College Classic… Struck out one batter and helped Tennessee close out the final inning of a midweek 13-3 victory over Bellarmine on 4/15.
