2026: Made a successful return to the mound after missing nearly two seasons due to injuries and earned second-team American All-Conference honors… A member of the weekend rotation throughout the season and led the team with 15 starts… Ranked second in The American with a 2.83 ERA and third with a .214 opponents’ batting average, while in conference games, he was second in OBA (.201), third in ERA 2.79, and 10th in innings (42)… Was 3-3 with a 2.79 ERA in nine conference starts and posted quality starts in five of his last eight… 2-0 with a 1.62 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in seven starts at Reckling this year and 3-1 with a 3.13 ERA in 21 career games (10 starts) at home (69.0, 54, 26, 24, 33, 5… Rice was 8-7 in his starts, rallying to take the lead after he left in two of them (2/28 vs. Harvard, 3/7 @ACU)… After getting just two runs of support in his first 16.2 innings of the season, the Owls scored 11 in his last four innings at Grand Canyon while he worked a career-high six innings and struck out a then career-best six to earn his first win since 2024… Induced a team-leading 10 double plays… Walked just 11 in his last six starts (30.1 innings) compared with 25 in his first 36.1 innings… Worked a career-long seven innings and threw a career-best 100 pitches in a 3-2 win at Charlotte on 4/12 to complete the series sweep… Struck out a career-high seven in 6.0 innings vs. Memphis on 4/19.

2024: 1-4 with a 6.00 ERA in 10 games, four starts before his season was cut short by an injury… Did not pitch after 4/13… Picked up his first career win and Rice's first AAC win with his relief outing vs. Tulane on 3/24... Matched his career high with five strikeouts in 3.2 innings vs. the Green Wave… Worked a career-long five innings against Louisiana in the series finale (5,5,2,2,0,1)... Tagged for a two-run homer in the third, but then retired his next five in a row and then stranded the runner after allowing a double to close out his final frame... Needed only 59 pitches to complete his five innings... Worked three shutout innings while fanning a career-high five in his first start of the year, vs. Sam Houston on 2/20… 1-1 with a 4.54 ERA in 14 career games (four starts) at Reckling (35.2,
32, 19, 18, 16, 30).
2023: Worked primarily out of the bullpen in his freshman season with 14 appearances, but also made a pair of starts … Made his debut with three innings in relief vs. Louisiana on 2/18 (3,6,2,2,0,2) and came back to strike out the side in one inning vs. Sam Houston on 2/28, the first of four games with three strikeouts …. Worked a career-high four innings vs. Lamar on 4/11 (4,2,0,0,0,0,0) and followed that with two shutout innings vs. Charlotte on 4/16 in his starting debut … 0-1 with a 4.80 ERA in eight games (one start) at Reckling… Took the loss vs. Incarnate Word in his only decision of the year.
Prior to Rice: Two-time All-District 19-5A selection for coach Chris Litton at College Station leading the Cougars to the Regional semifinals in 2021 and the third round of the 2022 playoffs… 7-1 with a 2.18 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 53 innings as a senior and posted a 15-5 record, 1.98 ERA and 131 strikeouts in 112 innings in his career.
