UTSA Evens Series
4/3/2026 10:28:00 PM | Baseball
Final game set for noon on Saturday
Houston- Ethan Sanders and UTSA's Connor Myles battled to a near-draw for six innings, but the Roadrunners exploded for seven runs over the final three innings as UTSA evened the series with an 8-0 win on Friday night.
How it Happened: Sanders scattered five hits over the first six innings, with the only blemish to that point being an unearned run in the second inning. Myles held the Owls hitless until Cole Green opened the fourth with a bunt single to extend his hitting streak to a career-best seven games. But the Roadrunners used a pair of walks, two singles, and an error to push three runs across in the seventh. They added three in the eighth and one additional run in the ninth, while not allowing an Owl to reach third until the bottom of the eighth.
Next Up: The series finale has been moved up to a noon start on Saturday due to anticipated rain in the Houston area later that day. The Owls will wrap up their current eight-game homestand next Wednesday by hosting Texas A&M Corpus Christi, then head to Charlotte next weekend for three games against the 49ers.
