HOUSTON - Senior Darya Schwartzman will be recognized Friday as the Rice women's tennis team hosts a two-match weekend at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.

Rice enters the weekend 11-6 overall and 6-1 at home. The Owls split last weekend in San Diego, opening with a 4-0 win over UC San Diego before falling in a hard-fought 4-3 match to No. 46 San Diego.

Rice leads both all-time series this weekend, holding a 10-4 advantage over South Florida and a 7-6 edge against FIU. The Owls are 3-1 at home against the Bulls, last hosting South Florida on March 31, 2023, in a 4-3 loss. Rice is 3-0 at home against FIU and last defeated the Panthers in Houston on April 2, 2023, 4-2.

In the latest ITA rankings, Rice is No. 57 as a team, while the doubles pairing of Darya Schwartzman and Uma Bakaityte is ranked No. 41.
