HOUSTON – The Rice men's tennis team will travel to Florida this weekend to face Florida Atlantic on Friday and South Florida on Sunday.
The Owls are coming off a 2-1 week in which they won the 67th Ralph O'Connor Rice Invitational with victories over UAB and DePaul after falling to No. 8 Baylor, 4-3, on March 8.
Petro Kuzmenok was named the American Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday after posting a 3-0 record on the week. This was highlighted by a straight-set victory over No. 13 Devin Badenhorst of Baylor, 6-2, 6-4.
Rice is 2-4 all-time against Florida Atlantic, with the most recent matchup ending in a 4-0 victory for Rice at home. The Owls lead South Florida 4-3 in the all-time series and earned a 4-3 win last season.
