Rice Caps Off Great Weekend in College Station

COLLEGE STATION – The Rice women's track and field team continued to improve throughout the two-day meet at Texas A&M's Charlie Thomas Invite, with several personal and season bests.
Barbora Malíková continued her impressive start to the season, finishing second in the 400m (first for collegiate athletes), with a season best mark of 52.96s.
Heidi Nielson had a tremendous race in the 3000m, finishing second with a personal best time of 9:35.77.
Julia Johannesdottir had a great weekend, finishing fourth in the open 60m hurdles with a time of 8.38s. Johannesdottir also finished seventh in her first pentathlon of the season.
Josie Taylor added a clearance of 1.70m to finish seventh in the high jump.
