Owls Head to Houston and Arkansas

HOUSTON – The Rice women's track and field team will head to two different meets starting Friday with athletes competing at Houston's Howie Ryan Invite and the Tyson Invitational at Arkansas.
Julia Johannesdottir leads the Owls into the weekend's meets, sitting with the second-best pentathlon mark and 60m hurdle mark in the conference.
Barbora Malíková will race in Arkansas currently holding the second-fastest time in the American for the 400m, while Riana Green sits fifth for the event.
Saniya Friendly enters ranking third in the 60m and ninth in the 200m. Susie Nestor sits fifth for the 800m.
Heidi Nielson ranks fourth in the conference for the 3000m.
The Owls lead the conference in two events with the triple jump (Savannah Simms) and the 4x400m.
