An upgraded fan experience awaits Rice fans this season
Rice Football kicks off the 2025 home schedule on Saturday, September 6 with the Bayou Bucket Classic against the Houston Cougars. Kickoff is set for 6:00p.m. at Rice Stadium.
Each year, Rice Athletics strives to improve the fan experience at Rice Stadium, and the 2025 season has some exciting updates in place.
Tailgate Owley & The Owl Walk
The Owls continue to improve upon the pre-game experience outside of the stadium with a new and improved Tailgate Owley. This year, fans can purchase tailgate spaces in the grass area on the east side of the stadium and secure the best location to enjoy everything Tailgate Owley has to offer. In addition to more vendors and interactive experiences, Rice Athletics is introducing a brand-new live pre-game show beginning two and a half hours prior to kick off on the stage in Tailgate Owley, where J.P. Heath and Abby Christopherson will pre-view that day's game and get fans ready for the arrival of the team for the Owl Walk, taking place 2 hours prior to kickoff. Make sure to arrive in time to welcome the team, along with the MOB and the Rice Spirit Squad, immediately followed by the Standard Proof Concert Series that will take you right up until kickoff.
New Parking Procedures
We have made updates to our parking lots and parking procedures to ensure that donors and season ticket holders have access to the best parking, while re-naming our lots to streamline the parking process for all of our guests. Please visit the parking page on our website for details.
Updated Concessions
In addition to our grab and go concessions options, we are adding a brand new lineup of domestic beers with reduced pricing, as well as premium mixed drinks and cocktails from our new partners, including Live Oak Vodka, Higgins Boat Rum, Standard Proof Whiskey, Tequila Corrido and Civetta Canned Wines.
Gameday Is Now Cashless
To eliminate wait times and simplify your experience, parking, ticketing and concessions at Rice Stadium are now completely cashless
New Student Section – THE NEST
Our student body is the heart and soul of Rice University, and we want to make Rice Stadium the best place possible for them to experience Owls Football. The student section, as well as the MOB, has been relocated to sections 106 and 107 to provide a more comfortable viewing experience. In addition to the new location, the students have voted to name the new section "The Nest".
Fan Services
To ensure that Rice fans have the best experience possible, we are introducing a fast, seamless way to share any issues or concerns immediately with our staff. On gameday, there will be QR codes throughout the stadium allowing fans to text problems directly to our facilities staff, who will quickly be able to address the issues, ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience for all of our guests. Fans can scan the QR codes throughout the stadium or text 1-888-912-OWLS to report concerns.
A New Tradition
A new era of Rice Football calls for new traditions. As the Owls rack up the points on the field, fans will celebrate along with a blast from our brand-new train horn, leaving no doubt when the home team crosses the goal line! The horn will also signal the arrival of the team to campus two hours prior to kickoff, so fans will know to head over to Tailgate Owley for the Owl Walk.

A variety of ticket packages are available so fans can choose the best way to support the Owls this fall! Buy season tickets to lock in your seat for all 7 home games this fall or customize your own 3 or 4 game mini plan. For season ticket holders, our new all-in-one pass makes your mobile ticket experience easier than ever!
