
Women’s Basketball Holds First Practice of 2025-26 Season

HOUSTON – The Rice women's basketball team returned to the floor Monday for the team's first official practice of the 2025-26 season.
Shelley Pennington and Friends Head Coach Lindsay Edmonds enters her fifth season with the Owls after reaching the American Conference championship game in back-to-back seasons, winning it all back in 2024.
Rice has several conference honorees returning this season, including All-Conference Second Team selection Dominique Ennis. In addition, All-Freshman Team honoree Aniah Alexis and All-Newcomer Team selection Victoria Flores return for the Owls.
Ennis was second on the team in scoring with 12.2 points per game, while also setting the school record in three-pointers in a season with 80. Flores added 9.3 points per game while Hailey Adams (6.7 ppg) and Alexis (6.3 ppg) rounded out the top scorers from last season.
The Owls will open the new season on Nov. 7 on the road at South Dakota State.
