Ben-Shoshan and Rank Named to AAC Honor Roll

Houston-Rice seniors Jack Ben-Shoshan and Treyton Rank have been named to the AAC Honor Roll for their performances during a 2-2 week for the Owls.

Rank hit .385 in the four games and slugged .923 with two doubles, one triple, and one home run in games against Houston and Memphis. He leads the Owls with a .378 average in AAC games this year.

Ben-Shoshan stranded all three runners he inherited in back-to-back outings at Memphis while throwing 4.2 scoreless innings, striking out four, and earning the save in the Owls' series-clinching 9-5 win on Friday. He has not allowed a run in his last 10.1 innings overall and has a 1.76 ERA in 15.1 innings of work in conference action this year.

Rice will not play a midweek game this week and will remain on the road in conference action this weekend when they travel to Birmingham to face UAB in a three-game series on Friday at 5 p.m. The Owls return to Reckling Park on Friday, May 2 when they host Charlotte.
