Owls Set for Charlie Thomas Invite

COLLEGE STATION – The Rice Owls women's track and field team is back in action this weekend at the Charlie Thomas Invite at Texas A&M. The two-day meet will begin Friday morning and go through Saturday evening.
In total, the Owls will have 28 athletes competing in 16 events.
Last time out, Heidi Nielson claimed the lone event title from the running events at the Robert Platt Invite, winning the 3000m. Daphne Mayer and Alex Gobran were right behind in third and fourth, respectively. Saniya Friendly had a great showing throughout the meet, finishing fourth in the 400m and fifth in the 60m.
Over in the field events, Josie Taylor claimed the second event title of the meet in the high jump with a clearance of 1.72m
