Alexis Named American Honorable Mention

IRVING – Rice sophomore Aniah Alexis earned the team's first weekly honor after being named American Conference Honorable Mention, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Alexis led the Owls to a 2-0 week, with wins at Houston and against Middle Tennessee. She secured her first career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds against the Blue Raiders. Alexis added 10 points and four rebounds against the Cougars.
On the week, Alexis averaged 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and one steal per game. She is 33.3% from the floor this season and is second on the team with a 41.7% shooting percentage from three-point range.
The Owls (2-1) head back on the road Wednesday to face RV Princeton.
