Rice heads out to Denton, Texas for a matchup with the Mean Green of North Texas Sunday afternoon. The Owls return to Holloway Field Thursday night for Senior Night against East Carolina.
Last Time Out
Rice rallied from a halftime deficit for a 3-1 win Sunday afternoon against South Florida. Eileen Albers recorded a brace with the game-tying and game-sealing goals while Sophie Zhang added her second goal of the season.
National Recognition
Leah Chancey checked in at No. 63 in the TopDrawerSoccer Midseason Top 100 Players, after starting the season at 67 in the preseason rankings. Another Owl, Jadyn Jaeger, was slotted at No. 51 in the TopDrawerSoccer Midseason Top 100 Freshmen. Chancey leads the Owls with eight goals and eight assists on the season, while Jaeger adds another two goals and two assists for her young collegiate career.

This is only the 19th meeting all-time between the two, with the Mean Green holding a 9-5-4 series lead. The Owls won the last meeting 2-1 at Holloway Field, rallying from an early deficit. Rice has never won at UNT, holding a 0-5-2 record.
Lee Earns Win 350
During Rice's 3-2 win over Oklahoma State on August 28, head coach Brian Lee recorded with 350th career win as a head coach. Coach Lee has been a head coach for 32 seasons with stops at Furman (11 seasons) and LSU (14 seasons) before taking over Rice in 2019 (7th season). Lee currently ranks 18th in wins by active DI coaches.
HTX Takeover in the RGV
The Owls had an offensive explosion at UTRGV, dropping six goals in the shutout win. The Owls' six goals are the most in a game since scoring eight against TSU during the 2020-21 season. The six goals are the most scored on the road since Rice had seven at Old Dominion in 2017.
Two Up, Two Down
Mariana Elizondo has opened the 2025 season on fire; netting goals in back-to-back matches, both being game-winning goals. The two goals tie a season high, when she scored twice back in the 2022 season (also the last time she scored before the 2025 campaign).

The Owls defended Holloway Field fiercely last season, going 10-1-1 at home. The Owls have a 146-60-24 all-time home record. Rice currently has a 10-game unbeaten streak at home against non-conference opponents, going 9-0-1 in that span.
