AUSTIN, Texas - The Rice Owls men's tennis team will take part in the ITA Kickoff Weekend hosted at the University of Texas this weekend. The Owls will have two matches, the first of which against the top-ranked Texas Longhorns, with the second coming against either the Arkansas Razorbacks or the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Rice will know which of the remaining teams it will face depending on the outcome of each match. The winner of the Rice vs. Texas match will move on to face the winner of the Arkansas vs. Georgia Tech match, and vice-versa.
Rice is 4-36 all-time against the Longhorns, with the last victory against Texas coming in Austin on February 15, 2006. In that match, 35th-ranked Rice knocked off 16th-ranked Texas.
